You know, there comes a point when Scots supporting 'independence' need to take responsibility for not taking the lead. I would have thought, after the last a dozen years, living under the increasing horrors of the Westminster hegemony, Scots would have taken affirmative action to regain their power and that this would have manifested into an active grassroots movement by now.
The Subordination to the Elites of England doesn't fit like a glove because nobody consented to it - it fits like a punch in the face. People flinch from punches, that's trained, not chosen. Those ‘invisible chains’ that bind us need to be broken!
I suppose it’s worth remembering: movements are phase transitions, and they look dormant right up until they aren't. Tick tock, tick tock….
Thanks for your reply to the above question on Angry Pict’s stack but I wasn’t asking for examples of Acts salvo, which as you say are numerous and easily discoverable on the Records of the Parliament of Scotland website, I was asking for examples of cases in which these Acts were founded upon or invoked - perhaps from the law reports or cited in the likes of Stair or Erskine? So that we can see how the bare words of the statutes operated in practice. Thanks.
Your own thread says otherwise, Neil. You dismissed the example you were offered there because it 'wasn't an example of salvo jure cujuslibet', then followed up with 'Not been able to find any examples?'. That is the question I answered. The law reports are a different and narrower one. The up coming article will address both, in due course.
So you’ve been able to find examples of cases in which salvo was invoked or founded upon and are going to present them in your next article? Good, looking forward to that.
I read the full article on Archive.org. Can you give some examples of the doctrine of salvo jure cujuslibet being applied so we can get a flavour of how the system is supposed to operate?
